Patricia's story

Pat was born in Chester on 29th March 1933 to Dorothy Jane Jones and John Ormsby Jones, a Piano teacher and the editor at the Nantwich Chronicle. As well as her parents, she lived with her Granny, Sarah Elizabeth Jones & 2 cats, Tish and Tosh. She attended the local Primary School before Nantwich Grammar, where she met her lifelong friends Brenda & Renee. Aged 16, she left home and went to study for the Post Office in Crewe and Nottingham. 2 years later her desire to see more of the world meant the family moved to Toronto, Canada, however only for 1 year before they returned home. At work back in the UK, Pat met Arthur and after a few years, on the 17th September 1960 they were married. 5-years later they added to their family with the arrival of Christine. Throughout her life she maintained her love of music, tennis, bowls and table tennis and despite not having their own pets, she showed her love of cats with those that lived with Christine, Stuart, Megan & Sarah. Despite the love of North Wales she shared with Arthur, she was happiest living near to and watching her daughter and granddaughters grow up and thrive in their lives. Pat kept very fit and healthy for many years until the last 2 years of her life, when her health and mobility deteriorated rapidly. She peacefully passed away with her immediately family at her side on 2nd May 2021

Legacies, also known as gifts in Wills, have a profound impact on our charity, funding 1 in 7 of our lifesaving missions. Legacies are another way in which you can honour a loved one’s memory and that gift allows their memory to live on long into the future, allowing us to save lives of future generations in their name. If you have included such a special gift in your Will, you can now show that on your loved one’s page with a pledge, or you can request to learn more about legacies with our free Gifts in Wills Guide.
